If there were one piece of advice I’d have to give you regarding your wrestling attire it would be: always wear pantyhose/tights when wrestling. There are multiple reasons why pantyhose are extremely useful in the ring. First of all, regardless of the type you’re wearing, it’ll enhance the beauty of your legs and cover imperfections, thus giving you a huge visual upgrade and taking you one step closer towards looking your absolute best. Since it’s also a very feminine item, it’ll add to the glitz and glamour you need to display in the ring, not to mention that it feels great. Besides making you look like a true queen of the squared circle, pantyhose has much more practical advantages as well. It’ll prevent mat-burns by providing additional protection to delicate skin. It’ll prevent leotards from riding up, thus you’ll be able to wear thong leotards without them ever cutting into your private areas in the heat of the action. Since most pantyhose are rougher than actual bare skin, they can also be used as weapons when you’re scissoring your opponent or straddling her face in any form. |
In regards to pantyhose etiquette in wrestling, here’s what you should know: fine shiny STW (sheer to waist) pantyhose will give you the classic lady wrestler look. These can be worn with just about any kind of leotards. Full bottom and thong ones, solid color or flower print ones. With these on, you can pick just about any leotard or swimsuit, it’ll go perfectly with them. Be aware that not all pantyhose are STW. Some have a re-enforced panty-part which will be visible from under your leotard. In some cases this only adds to your overall appeal, if you’re trying to be conservative though, you’re better off just picking a STW one or one that has a T-panty. Most such pantyhose feature crotch panels which will slightly show from under your leotard’s crotch (especially if you’re wearing a thong one) whenever you’re in a spread-legged position (which will happen pretty much all the time in the ring or on the mat). Don’t worry about that, it only makes you sexier in the eyes of just about anyone who sees it. |

Colored pantyhose are an extremely delicate matter. To pull off this look you need to have perfect legs. Remember the shiny pink pantyhose Magnificent Mimi wore in the LPWA? They looked great, I know, but you must have legs like Mimi’s to create an equally positive impression. Always try to go for shiny when choosing pantyhose, regardless of whether you pick skin color, black, white or any other color hose. Shiny pantyhose make your legs supple and sporty, matte hose makes them look bulky. Try to assort pantyhose with your skin-complexion, whether you’re going for contrast or for a blend-in: the results will be much more aesthetic. |
For pantyhose wrestling (the genre which requires combatants to wear pantyhose only) you should pick a patterned fashion pantyhose with an intricate panty-design. That makes the whole thing much more appealing visually turning you into a goddess of the ring or mat. Go for a crotch panel which is much less see-through than the rest of your hose. That’ll keep an element of mystery in the match, and people (spectators or video customers) just love that. Mock garter pantyhose – the right kind of attire for your pantyhose wrestling matches

Thick ultra-shiny tights (Danskin type) are mainly worn by Mexican luchadoras. If you’re going for that look, by all means, that’s the type of pantyhose to wear. These tights are sturdier than regular pantyhose, (higher DEN) and usually shinier too. Don’t be surprised if the glare off your legs blinds a few onlookers and cameras.
Fishnets are popular with many female wrestlers these days. Regular fishnets will give you a classic British look. Fishnets are also excellent when scissoring an opponent’s face as they’re coarser than regular hose. Most fishnet pantyhose come without a reinforced panty, so they’ll all look great with leotards. Choose black or a dark color to make an impression as light, skin-colored ones are barely visible. Fencenets can also be worn instead of fishnets, and they can also be worn on top of a shiny unitard to accentuate the extreme nature of your attire.
Patterned and fashion pantyhose can be used to accentuate the length of your legs. A vertical stripe one or a Cuban seam one will do wonders in this respect. Fashion pantyhose can add a lot of stylishness to a wrestlerette, but it can also backfire terribly if worn with the wrong color or style leotard. A few LPWA wrestlerettes (like Reggie Bennett and Rusty Thomas) wore flower patterned hose to the ring, and they pulled off the look well. Just make sure the pattern on your pantyhose does not accentuate curves you’d rather mask.
Wearing stockings for wrestling is extremely cumbersome. They offer none of the advantages of pantyhose and they keep sliding down. If you use them with garters for catfighting though, they’re ok.
