WW:When did you realize that professional wrestling was something you wanted to do and what is it that you like most about the sport? Lady Vendetta: I started out as a valet for hardcore wrestler Mad Man Pondo. However, just bouncing around at ringside and whacking people over the heads with trash can lids and STOP signs left me empty. I really wanted to get in the ring. I was contacted by Sam DeCiro from Windy City Wrestling in 1993 who offered to train me for free because he had heard so much about me and my abilities in and around the ring. I started right away training to wrestle with them and picked it up so quickly I was able to wrestle in Battle Of The Belts III against Toni Alexis. I had studied Okanawan Karate & Jujitsu, so wrestling just seemed to roll right in there with my other training. WW: Tell us a few things about your first ever wrestling match pls. How did it feel? Who did you wrestle? Did you win/lose it and how? Afterwards, did you still feel like wrestling was the right choice? Lady Vendetta: I was a little intimidated to be honest. I was used to attending shows with Mad Man Pondo with anywhere from 2 to 3 hundred people. When I walked out to the ring there in Chicago at the Amphitheater surrounded by security and nearly 5000 fans, the whole thing seemed unreal!!! I wrestled Toni Alexis and unfortunately I did lose, mainly due to the guy they sent out with me to manage me. He grabbed Toni from behind so I could give her a quick kick to the stomach while the ref was down, but she was too quick for him and managed to move before my kick connected. He ended up getting kicked in the privates, and as I was checking on him Toni schoolboyed me and got the 3 count. As for if wrestling was the right choice...I was hooked and I've never looked back! |

WW: What is your favorite pro wrestling hold and why? Lady Vendetta: Dragon Suplex....it's devastating, intimidating,...and it looks pretty damned impressive too! WW: Do you consider that a submission win is worth more than a pin-fall one? If so, why? Lady Vendetta: Not in my opinion. I guess it just depends on the individual I'm wrestling....some people I like to humiliate by just putting them down quickly with a submission, but if I'm enjoying my match I'd much rather wear them down move by move until they can't wrestle any more. WW: Which style of wrestling do you reckon characterizes you? Lady Vendetta: I am part technical, part brawler. I like to hit hard and be hit hard in return, and if someone hands me a weapon I won't hesitate to use it. |

WW: Whom did you enjoy wrestling the most and why? Lady Vendetta: I actually have 2 gals that are a toss up for most favorite. They would be Sherri Martel & Luna Vachon. Both were classy ladies with loads of knowledge that they didn't mind sharing with me. Neither lady had attitudes, they were as down to earth as anyone and I miss them something awful. The ladies out in the rings now days could learn a lot from them. I have also work with lady legend Malia Hosaka....that is one woman that knows where it is at, and I hope other gals will take the opportunity to take advice from her!!! WW: What do you currently consider to be the highlight, the peak of your career? Lady Vendetta: I wrestled a thumbtack match with Candi Divine for IWA Mid-South in 1997. Candi was trying her best to stay up and out of the tacks...me, I didn't care. I'd toss her down in them and roll around in them myself, not caring how many times I got stabbed with the little buggers...I just wanted to get the win, and I did. Later that evening in the locker room Ian Rotten put his arm around my shoulder and told all the guys "This gal here has more balls than all of you put together!" and gave me a big hug. That made me feel really good coming from a hardcore pro like him. And, this was at a point in time when the girls weren't really going matches like this, so I kind of felt like I'd opened up a door for us ladies to move onward into another dimension of wrestling. WW: What sort of attire do you prefer to wear in the ring and why? Lady Vendetta: I prefer skirts & tops or the "Old School" one piece wrestling outfits. I started out wearing those types of outfits, and I've just remained more comfortable in my old ways! LOL! Most of my outfits are pink and black with skulls on them somewhere. WW: What is your wrestling gimmick (if any)? Lady Vendetta: I'm like a punk-rock, gothic chick all rolled into one. WW: How do you train and how often do you train for the in-ring acrobatics? Lady Vendetta: I train every other week for in-ring moves, and I regularly lift weights on a weekly basis. WW: What do you consider to be your strengths and weaknesses in the ring? Lady Vendetta: Strengths I would have to say I keep my cool and not a lot rattles me anymore...I've been wrestling for 18 years now, so there's not a lot out there that I haven't seen or done. Weakness....never reveal your weaknesses, you never know who'll be reading this!!! ;~) WW: What are your future, wrestling-related ambitions? Lady Vendetta: Well, I'm 44 now so my only ambition is to keep working the indy circuit as long as I'm able to get bookings. It's sad but a lot of these federations will look at your age before they look at your accomplishments and judge you based on that. WW: What advice would you give those women who are looking to make it in professional wrestling? Lady Vendetta: Train at a good wrestling school and stick with it until you are trained! Too many girls drop out after a few months and think they are ready to be wrestling superstars!!! Remain in training throughout your career...after 18 years I'm STILL learning things and will continue to do so as long as I stay on top of things. Oh, and one VERY important thing...STOW THE ATTITUDES! Nobody likes working with an ass and that will get you worked over quicker than anything, plus you don't learn a thing like that since you already think you know it all! LOL! Thankfully, of all the new girls I've worked with there are a lot more positive ones than negative ones, and I wish all of them luck down their road to learning!
