WW: How did you ever get hooked on wrestling? What was your first wrestling related experience? Patti: My first match was sort of as a joke. Our local volunteer fire dept. used pro wrestling as a means of fund raising. They asked the promoter if he could provide women's matches. He couldn't but quickly the fire dept volunteered me and another lady. We trained for like 4 hours and presto. It was meant to be just for fun but since no one here had ever seen women wrestling it was a hit. The depts in the area wanted women on their shows too so he brought in a trained female wrestler and she trained me and we did the fire dept shows. Eventually there were 4 of us. I also worked at a local college that at the time had a women's wrestling team. I got to use the gym as part of my compensation and they'd be there so eventually I started fooling around with them and really fell in love with freestyle wrestling. It's all competitive and not entertainment like pro wrestling. Over the years even when I wasn't doing pro wrestling I've always been doing freestyle. WW: If you can sum it up briefly: what exactly is it that you love about wrestling? Patti: It's fun. It's like for a few minutes the world's in that ring. Meeting people is also great. WW: We know you wrestled for Lady Victoria. Did you have other matches as well? If so, how many and against whom? Patti: I do more freestyle matches than pro. In pro though which is I think what you're interested in I've still only had maybe 60 matches. WW: What is your approximate (or precise) win/loss record? Patti: I stay about 50/50. I don't really keep up with it but I know it's pretty close to even and I'm satisfied when it's there. |
| WW: What was your most memorable wrestling moment? Patti: Standing in the ring my first match being mortified when they announced my weight (167 lbs at that time). Now I'd be thrilled if I could weigh that little again. I just remember standing there trying to look mean and trying not to cry at the same time. WW: What is your favorite wrestling hold and why do you like that hold? Patti: I'm old school, I like power moves and holds. I like suplexes. I like boston crabs since you can vary the pressure from none to massive. WW: Do you prefer to win your matches via pin or submission? Do you reckon a submission victory weighs more in the balance than a pin one? Patti: No, a win's a win. I would rather loose by being pinned so I presume everyone else would as well. I resist submitting and fight harder so getting the pin can be easier. |

WW: several of your matches you wear shiny pantyhose with your bathing suit. Other than just looking good, do pantyhose offer you any advantages (guard against mat-burn etc)?
Patti: I wear knee pads now, my knees are shot as it seems to be with most girls in the sport sooner or later. I've never really had issues with friction burns except my knees. They keep too much of me being seen when swimsuits ride or get pulled up.
WW: Any wrestling-related plans for the future?
Patti: I'm out awaiting surgery (minor nothing serious). Then I hope to get back traveling and doing some of the matches I've committed to. Thanks and you're always free to ask me anything.
