LLF - Lucha Libre Femenil, or Mexican Women’s wrestling is one of the most spectacular forms of female wrestling in the world. The luchadoras (Mexican female wrestlers) are adept at the acrobatic form of wrestling that the Mexican public requires. Pictured as a perpetual battle between good and evil, lucha libre femenil features shiny leotards, bright shiny pantyhose and some luchadoras wear masks. Tag team matches often end in double or triple submissions/pins and unusual submission holds are common.

Some of lucha libre femenil’s legends are: Lola Gonzales, Irma Aguilar, Xochitl Hamada, Lady Apache etc.
Currently active Mexican female wrestlers: Dark Angel (Sarah Stock who is in fact Canadian but mostly wrestles south of the border), Princesa Sugey, Luna Magica, Diana la Cazadora etc. Given the popularity of women’s wrestling south of the border, US women will often travel to Mexico to wrestle the luchadoras.
