Jersey Shore's Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi steps into the ring

The Jersey Shore girls must have a thing for the squared circle, as after Angelina Pivarnick's TNA debut (in which she pretty much got bludgeoned by Velvet Sky), Snooki Polizzi stepped into the ring as well on WWE's RAW. Unlike her ex cast-mate though, she did the bludgeoning, on WWE Diva Michelle McCool.
A video must be worth a million words so here we go:

In lieu of any technical training, Snooki pretty much resorted to good old hairpulling and brawling, but given the fact that she signed for a full match, she will probably have to spend some time chiseling her technical abilities.
Pivarnick will be back for a full match on TNA as well. Who knows, one day we may even witness a match between the two Jersey Shore Guidettes. Here's Pivarnick on the receiving end of Velvet Sky's rage:

Women's wrestling mourns the loss of Luna Vachon

Luna Vachon

Here’s a true shocker female wrestling fans: Luna Vachon, the immovable object as well as the unstoppable force of women’s wrestling is no longer.
At the age of 48, Luna Vachon has passed away at her mother’s home, after a fire had destroyed her house together with pretty much all her possessions.
The actual cause of her death has not yet been established.

For years, Luna has been a true landmark of the female wrestling scene. Gertrude Angelle (her real name) was definitely one of the most colorful and quirky characters of the ladies’ scene. Everyone knew and loved her. She was a master of her trade, hailing from a family of wrestlers. Even those who were never really interested in ladies’ wrestling knew Luna well.
There’s little point in reminiscing about her wrestling achievements: they were way too numerous to be crammed into a short article such as this one.
She had wrestled for the FCW, the WWF (the mainstream organization back then), the ECW, Tri States wrestling and for a bunch of independent promotions and websites, delighting audiences with her skills and antics.

A lady whose heart may have been too big for the business, Luna had two sons and two granddaughters. Our sincerest sympathies go out to her family.

WRESTLICIOUS set to launch in fall

A new, all women wrestling show is set to launch in the fall of 2009. Wrestlicious is apparently a GLOW like take, with over the top characters and comedy skits reminiscent of the 80s classic. Sponsored by Powerball winner, 19 year old Jonathan Vargas, the show will be produced by Johnny Cafarella (previously involved with GLOW) and it will be hosted by Jimmy “The Mouth of the South” Hart, who has also been involved with Carmen Electra’s NWWL.

Vargas himself will be part of the show, acting as the owner of the promotion. It is apparent from the demo video you can see below that some of the talent from WOW will return to the squared circle. Even the names of some of the characters seem inspired from David McLane’s GLOW, POWW and WOW.

The show is set to kick off this fall and will apparently be aired by FOX. Check out http://www.wrestlicious.com for more details.
